Three Haringey council meetings scheduled for 20 May
The annual Full Council meeting begins at 7.30 pm, followed by two committees at 8.30 pm.
The Full Council meeting is where all elected councillors gather to debate and vote on major decisions affecting the borough. The annual meeting includes the election of the council chair and setting of the council tax for the year ahead.
The Strategic Planning Committee meets at 8.30 pm. Members of the public can attend planning committee meetings and some applications allow for public speaking.
The Licensing Committee also convenes at 8.30 pm to decide applications for premises licenses, such as those needed to run pubs, restaurants and takeaways, and to review licensing policy.
All three meetings take place on the same evening. The Full Council meeting must finish before the committees can begin, so the later start times for planning and licensing may run later than their scheduled slot.
Agendas and papers for all meetings are published on Haringey Council's website in advance. Members of the public can attend Full Council and committee meetings, though access may be limited depending on room capacity. The council's meetings calendar lists all forthcoming public meetings.
